DWI Assessment and Treatment Services

DWI Arrest (click to see your upcoming journey)

Your DWI arrest will likely become one you’re most embarrassing and frustrating experiences in your life. Remember the law enforcement and

judicial system in North Carolina views your diver’s license as a privilege they granted to you; and you recently violated their trust.

Turning Point Behavioral Health Group will provide you with the information and professional assistance you will need to complete the DWI requirements set forth

by Division of Motor Vehicles. A DWI Assessment is required before a Limited Driving Privilege will be provided.  Also if you refused the Breathalyzer test during your arrest, you must

have both the assessment and treatment completed before you can request your Limited Driving Privilege.

DWI Assessment
The DWI Assessment is a structured interview to determine whether you have a problem with alcohol or drugs. The "508 Form" is first generated shortly after

the assessment. This form is the official document that the Division of Motor Vehicles will require to verify that you have completed all Driving While Impaired

requirements before your license can be restored.

You are required to complete a DWI Assessment before getting a limited driving privilege. Having completed your DWI Assessment before your trial may provide

you and your attorney a mitigating factor to present to the court which could lower your level of punishment. Turning Point Behavioral Health Group offers DWI

assessments through prescheduled appointments.  Contact us at 704-854-9854 to arrange your appointment.

Your will need to provide Turning Point Behavioral Health Group with or release us to obtain on your behalf the following documents to complete your

assessment:

  • A certified and complete driving record from North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles. Click here for DMV Drivers Record Form
  • The DWI ticket that the Police Department provided to you on the date of your arrest or
  • Your “Breathalyzer” verification document.
  • Payment of your assessment by cash, money order, VISA or MasterCard.  Personal checks cannot be accepted.

Providing the above documents and payment are provided on the day of your assessment, we can generate a letter to your attorney, probation office, or others

you need these results communicated to within 2 business days.  Standard USPS mailing is included in your assessment, although faster shipping methods can be

arranged for a nominal fee.

DWI Treatment
The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) requires you to complete one of the prescribed levels of treatment or ADETS class which is dependent upon

the results of your DWI Assessment. Starting your treatment or ADETS classes before trial may look favorable to the court.  Completion of the treatment and

classes is required before your driver’s licenses privileges will be reinstated.  The process of completing your assessment, treatment and getting the 508 Form to clear at DMV

can take as long as 4 - 5 months from beginning to end.  It is important that you get started immediately with your assessment and or treatment. Contact us at 704-854-9854 to

arrange your appointment for treatment.  Turning Point Behavioral Health Group does not offer ADETS classes.
